2010 Information

The 2010 Omro Classic will be Saturday, July 3rd.

Come back in the spring for more information. For now, below is what we had for 2009.


2009 Information

The 2009 Omro Classic will be Sunday, July 5th.

We're also proud to announce that the Omro Classic is stage 5 of Wisport's Jim Menzel Racing Series.

Results of the 2009 Omro Classic are now posted on the web.

Route

A new race route is here for 2009. The route will be two laps of 22 miles. Here is the official map.

There are reports of extended gravel on the south part of 37th Avenue and the far western part of Liberty School Road. Watch for information at race registration.

Location

The race begins and ends at Omro High School (Google Maps)

Race Day Parking

Parking will be in the Omro High School parking lot. Here is a parking map.

Race Staff Descriptions Are as Follows:

  • Corner Marshals: Orange Flagged Corner Marshals at various intersections keep racers safe and supported! They flag auto traffic to alert them of race and call SAG Vehicle when cyclist need Support And Gear. Important! There is no such thing as too many Corner Marshals!
  • Sweeper Marshals: Non Racing Cyclists - ride behind last racer. Communicate to Director of progress and need for help.
  • SAG Wagon Vehicle: Usually Bike Mechanics - provide assistance & transportation to racers when called by the corner marshals.
  • Corner Sweeper Crews: Corner Sweepers are also very important! Gravel is Dangerous! In days prior to the race and on race day morning Corner Sweeper Crews sweep gravel off corners of course! Important to make it a safe race!
  • Registration and Aid Station Staff: provide Assistance to racers during the registration process and at various aid stations with water and food.
