Fall Party Planned

THE OSHKOSH CYCLING CLUB
FALL PARTY will be Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 4PM until ??? at Jim Buehner's Homestead, 3002 Omro Road, Oshkosh (look for OCC Banner). The part is free to all current members of the Oshkosh Cycling Club. Non-members will be asked to give a donation. Monty & Laura Giffin's will be providing vegan chili, and Ken & Peg Kubiak's will bring their White Chicken Chili. The OCC will provide soda, water, bowls, cups, spoons, oyster crackers & napkins. If you'd like, bring a dish to pass and
your own adult beverage. There will be a drawing of names for prizes at 7:00PM. You must be present to win.
The club will have information available to sign up new members and orders will
be taken for club jerseys. Payment must be received with order. We plan to take
orders until December 1st with arrival by the Spring Election (March 2012).
Tour de Titan

The Oshkosh Cycling Club is proud to be a part of
the 2011 Tour de Titan ride. The ride, both a promotion of safe
cycling as well as a celebration of the UW-Oshkosh Homecoming, will
be on Saturday, October 22nd at 11 AM. For more details, see

OCC Sponsors Post-ride Food - Membership Deal from Wheel and Sprocket

The Oshkosh Cycling Club will be sponsoring the upcoming Wednesday
Cookout on September 7th. This will be the last cookout of the season,
and we hope everyone can attend. We encourage you to bring a friend and
join the OCC on the 7th. Wheel and Sprocket will be offering a gift card equal to the
cost of your OCC membership. Not only that, but members (all members, not just new members)
also qualify for a 15% discount off non-sale accessories and 5% off non-sale
bikes while your membership is current!
Ride Time Change

The days are getting shorter, so take note that rides will be
starting at 5:30pm after Labor Day. The YMCA will also be ending their Drop-in
child care program for the year on Wednesday, August 31st, the program
will restart in spring 2012.

Oshkosh Fitness Festival Announced

The
Oshkosh Fitness Festival will take place Friday and Saturday May 27th and 28th.
The Oshkosh Cycling Club will have a booth at the Health and Fitness Expo at City Center Hotel that
Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM. In addition to the Expo, there will be both a running race and bike ride
on Saturday. Details and registration info are available at the link above.
Across America by Bicycle Authors in Menasha

Email Through Google Groups

Beginning this spring, the Oshkosh Cycling Club will
begin using Google Groups to handle club email. We are sending invites
to everyone who has been on previous received OCC email to join the
Google Group. The purpose of this group is to allow everyone to send
email messages to the club -- opening communications to all. The invite email sent
to you will explain how to accept the invite. Questions? Email Greg.
Want to be invited to the group? Ask another member or send Greg an
email.
Spring Election Results

Thanks to everyone who came up today for the
pizza party and elections. We welcome Ken Kubiak as our new president
and Wade Loberger as our new vice president. We also welcome
Rachel Williams to the board. Greg Hawley will remain as secretary.

Spring Elections Announced

The OCC Spring Election is set for Sunday March 6, 2011 at West End
Pizza, 1414 W. 20th Ave., Oshkosh, from 12 noon until 3:00 PM.
OCC will provide pizza and soda. Families are encouraged to attend.
Voting for the two expired positions will occur from 12:30 PM
until 2:00 PM, to select a new president (Brian Kienert's term as
president has expired), secretary or any new vacant position created
during this selection.
Beginning this year, club members will be given membership cards.
Club members can renew their yearly membership during this meeting
($10.00 single/$15.00 family), and those interested in joining, can
become members.
We hope to continually increase our membership. Consider a family
membership and encourage others (friends, neighbors, etc.) to attend
and become an OCC member.

DPI is located at: 304 High ave., Oshkosh (going east on High toward downtown, between Jackson and Division St.). The cost is $11.99 + tax.
There is a one day turnover from the time you order.
You can pick them up between 9-5 weekdays OR they will send it out to you for an extra $1
Credit card accepted for over the phone orders.
Board Members Sought

The next all member meeting will be scheduled in Jan/Feb 2011.
Specific time and place will be forthcoming. We will elect two
vacant board positions. The names of nominees and/or those
interested need to be submitted to Greg Hawley, Club Secretary
no later than January 10th for placement on the ballot.
Following the board election, three officer positions will be
selected by the board: President, Vice-President and Secretary.

If interested they are $15.00 a piece. Checks made out to Urban Art and
sent to Michaelene at 24 Lake Street, Oshkosh WI 54904 need to be
received by December 13. They can be picked at Wheel & Sprocket in
Oshkosh when ready or other arrangements can be made if needed.
