It's the beginning of the cycling season. We're now at last able to get out on the road. Let's be careful. It's early enough that cars are not expecting us. Still, even at the end of the summer, cars still aren't expecting us. So, ride defensively. Obey traffic rules. Be respectful of drivers (even when they might not always be respectful of you). Together cars and bikes need to cooperate and share the road. This weekend there was an accident in Wrightstown. I biked by it after the ambulance left but before the cops had cleared the accident scene. To see the sheriff's department at an accident scene with fallen bikes is really hard. Let's do our best to avoid any more accidents. Looking for defensive cycling suggestions? See David Zabriske's Yield to Life site and the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office's bicycle safety page Edwin's Bike ReturnedAdded Mon, Apr 21, 2008 In early April we posted a link for Edwin Jager.
